Dried Juniper Berries (1oz)
Juniper has been used In porters, stouts and doppelbocks for centuries.
The flavor is very compatible with rye beer, and blends well with the citrus notes of ginger and orange peel, as well as licorice root and coriander.
Crush berries with mortar and pestle before using, or place in thick plastic bag and crush with a mallet.
Juniper berries are also used in brewing Pale Ale, for example, Rogue Juniper Pale Ale.
Usage: 1/2 – 1 ounce in the boil.
